AIRBORNE BOVINE...

OK, the first storm could be classified as 'fun, wild, adventerous'. Thirty two inches of powder out of one storm was certainly historical. Seven days later, round two arrives with another foot of snow, now we classified that storm as 'work', as now we all own our personal mountain. Fast forward to yet another seven days and now 3 weeks later, strike three arrives with 8 more inches. Officially, we classified that storm as demoralizing. Yes, in 3 weeks, Arvada has accumulated 52" of snow. To put it in perspective, Denver's annual seasonal snow totals approximately 62" spanning from Sept-April.

So, with our now 4ft plus of snow on the ground, can there be anything worst? The answer was provided last night-- YES! On a bright, clear and starry night, the snow plows were activated, shelters were opened, motorists again stranded and metro highways and roadways closed. WHY--- hurricane force winds have arrived! Three miles via crow flight to the west 93 mph officially recorded at Rocky Flats. A local news station set up 4 blocks from our house over night to record the ground blizzard on the same road I traversed last evening taking Austin on his first 'date' ever, a memorable one for even his dad, as our 15 min drive took 35 minutes.

We are ALL tired of Colorado being in the headlines.....blizzards, avalanche, Bronco's player murder....Oh, and the forecast for this Thursday, IT LOOKS LIKE ROUND FOUR...

Thursday, a 40 percent chance of snow, with up to 12" possible if the jet stream sets up correctly. Friday, mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Highs around 12. Lows near zero. Saturday, mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow. Highs 8 to 15. Lows around 3 below.
